Static Scientists
24th Nov 2025
This week, our young scientists took part in an exciting hands-on investigation into static electricity. Using balloons, the children explored how everyday materials can create surprising scientific effects.
Through guided experiments, they discovered how rubbing a balloon can build up static charge and make it attract different objects. There was plenty of curiosity and laughter as pupils predicted what might happen, tested their ideas, and observed the results up close.
The activity encouraged questioning, teamwork, and lots of scientific thinking. It was wonderful to see the children so engaged as they learned that science is not only all around us, but also great fun to explore.
